Cold brewed coffee: also called Cold Brew coffee. This cold extraction method, which requires very long times (approximately 8 hours), allows you to obtain a coffee with low acidity and excellent sweetness thanks to the temperature of the water, which does not extract the bitter substances from the coffee and limits the caffeine. The coffee obtained can be stored for 2/3 days in the refrigerator, therefore it can also be prepared in large quantities at a time. The instrument used is made up of 3 parts: • An upper part in borosilicate glass (and relative steel cover) where to insert ice or cold water (or the combination of the two) depending on the degree of dripping and therefore the extraction you want to obtain. •A steel filter to fill with ground coffee. The choice of coffee to use affects the result of the drink obtained. Usually, very fruity and aromatic blends are preferably used, typical of East Africa (Ethiopia or Kenya). Everyone can meet their own taste by mixing different types of coffee. •The last component is the borosilicate glass container. This carafe, with a 950ml capacity, can be used (with the steel lid) to store the coffee obtained after extraction to then be tasted with the addition of flavourings, almond milk, ice or cream. It can therefore be enjoyed cold, at room temperature or shaken. The characteristics of cold extraction make it easy to combine coffee with spirits to create original cocktails. A classic pairing is with gin and tonic. Hot extracted coffee: it is the classic American coffee where the preparation consists of filling the upper part with hot/boiling water and thus obtaining a long coffee. The quantity of coffee inside the filter creates a more or less intense coffee. The ideal blend for obtaining a good American coffee is characterized by slightly toasted, fresh and not too bitter notes.
